The Cloverport City Boat Ramp provides direct access to the Ohio River in Cloverport, Kentucky, located on old Highway 60 east of town. This is a working public facility ideal for kayakers, canoeists, and recreational boaters looking to launch into the Cannelton Pool section of the Ohio River. Launch fees are $5 per use (paid at an on-site drop box) or $53 for an annual pass; Cloverport residents with a city sticker launch for free. For more information or annual pass purchases, contact Cloverport City Hall at (270) 788-6612.
The Cannelton Pool is a popular recreational boating area that supports both commercial and leisure traffic. Paddlers should be prepared for a larger, busier waterway with potential barge and towboat traffic. The site offers basic amenities including water and electric access. For overnight camping, German Ridge Campground is available within 10 miles and offers reservable sites. This access point puts you on a historic stretch of water—part of the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail—with nearby opportunities for exploring Tar Creek and Clover Creek as well.
