Cody/Phelps Lake

Located on the north side of Phelps Lake in Montgomery, Rice County, this public boat access provides convenient launching for kayakers, canoeists, and small motorboats. The 299-acre lake is connected to adjacent Cody Lake via an underwater channel, allowing paddlers to explore both water bodies. The access site is situated directly across the road from the Cody Lake public access, making it easy to compare launch conditions or split time between the two lakes.

This is a no-fee access point suitable for launching boats up to approximately 12-18 feet, depending on ramp conditions.
