Coffeen Lake

Coffeen Lake is a 1,102-acre reservoir located seven miles southeast of Hillsboro in Montgomery County, featuring 48 miles of shoreline. The access site offers two concrete boat ramps for convenient launching: one at the main facility near the site office and another at the far north end of the lake. A nearby private business west of the site office provides gear and supplies if needed.

Boaters should note the 25 horsepower motor limit for regular operation—larger motors are restricted to trolling speed only, though higher horsepower engines may be used at no-wake speeds for loading and unloading trailered watercraft within 150 feet of the ramp. The lake is well-suited for paddlers and anglers alike, with excellent populations of largemouth bass and channel catfish among 22 fish species present. This is primarily a day-use facility with no on-site concession stand.
