Collin Park Marina is a well-developed access point on the east shore of Lavon Lake, located on the East Fork Trinity River in Collin County. The facility features two four-lane boat ramps—one inside the park and one just outside—making it suitable for kayakers, canoeists, and larger motorboats. The marina offers a protected harbor with 135 boat slips, a courtesy dock near the east ramp, dry storage, and a fully stocked Ships Store with service department. To reach the site from Lavon, head north on Texas 78 and turn west on FM 6.
**Access & Amenities:** While a $5 park entrance fee is required for day-use of the main recreational area (which includes restrooms, RV/tent camping, and a sandy beach), you can access the public boat ramp without paying the entrance fee. The site is open year-round and provides ample parking. The marina's location on the protected east shore offers a sheltered launching experience, shielded from high winds by elevated park lands surrounding the area.
This is an excellent base for exploring Lavon Lake's calmer waters, and nearby amenities include the Heard Natural Science Museum and Wildlife Sanctuary in McKinney if you're looking for additional recreation options.
