About This Access Site
The Conneaut Port Authority City Ramp, located at the end of Broad Street in Conneaut, is a well-maintained public launch facility providing access to Lake Erie and Conneaut Harbor. This is described as a first-class facility and is the recommended launching point for the area, offering reliable access for kayakers, canoeists, and larger recreational vessels. The ramp accommodates various boat types and is situated in Conneaut's marina district, known as one of Ohio's premier boating destinations.

**Important Note:** Paddlers should be aware that the swing bridge in Conneaut Harbor presents significant clearance challenges, particularly during periods of high lake levels when clearance may be reduced to just a few feet. Plan your route accordingly if you intend to paddle under the bridge. The east-side ramp on Conneaut Creek is not recommended due to these bridge constraints and limited parking security.

The Conneaut Harbor area offers good amenities for boaters, and the ramp provides straightforward access to Lake Erie's open water. This is a suitable launch point for day trips along the Lake Erie shoreline and harbor exploration.
