About This Access Site
Located southeast of Sutherlin near Cooper Creek Reservoir, the Cooper Creek East boat ramp provides convenient access to this 166-acre reservoir. The site features a functional boat ramp and day-use parking area on Cooper Creek Road along the north side of the reservoir. This access point is well-suited for kayakers and canoeists looking for a straightforward launch location, though the facility is more compact than some alternatives at the reservoir.

The East Day Use Area is positioned adjacent to the designated Personal Watercraft Zone, which is helpful to know for trip planning. If you're launching a canoe or kayak, note that the shallow upper end of the reservoir (reached by turning left at the fork and driving 1.9 miles to the road's end) tends to be the most productive area. For comparison, an alternative ramp and day-use area is available on the northwest side of the reservoir near the dam via Edgewater Drive. Cooper Creek Reservoir serves as the water source for the City of Sutherlin and offers opportunities for paddling and bank fishing.
