About This Access Site
Cooper Creek West is the primary boat launch facility for 166-acre Cooper Creek Reservoir, located southeast of Sutherlin in Douglas County. This day-use area offers ample parking, a boat ramp with floating docks, a fishing pier, picnic facilities, and restrooms. The site serves as an excellent starting point for paddlers of all skill levels looking to explore the reservoir's scenic forested canyon setting.

The 4-mile paddle around the entire reservoir offers several coves to explore, making it ideal for kayakers and canoeists seeking a moderate outing. However, be aware that the narrow lake is also popular with motorized boats and personal watercraft, so paddlers should stay alert and use the area adjacent to the boat ramp when preparing to launch or exit. The West Day Use area is particularly family-friendly for beginners.

Cooper Creek County Park also features a second boat ramp at Cooper Creek East, giving paddlers additional launch options. Both access points have floating docks currently in operation. The area provides good opportunities for fishing, boating, and exploring a pleasant water body in a scenic canyon environment.
