Copper Harbor Marina offers a developed public boat launch with a partially sheltered ramp protected by an 85-foot breakwater, making it a more protected option for accessing Lake Superior. The facility includes paved parking for vehicles and trailers, a historic concrete crib dock, and is conveniently located within walking distance to town amenities including restaurants and lodging. Full-service marina amenities are available, including fuel (diesel and gas), water, electricity, bathrooms, and showers.
This is an ideal launch point for exploring Lake Superior's open waters as well as nearby inland lakes—Lake Fanny Hooe, Lake Medora, Lake Bailey, and Lac La Belle are all accessible nearby and offer calmer conditions for kayaking and canoeing. Given Lake Superior's size and unpredictable conditions, planning ahead is essential. The Copper Harbor location also provides access to excellent recreational opportunities including bird watching along the shoreline and nearby woodland trails, plus the renowned spring raptor migration on Brockway Mountain.
