Copperfield

Located near Halfway in Baker County, the Copperfield boat ramp provides convenient access to Hells Canyon Reservoir, situated approximately 10 miles downstream of Brownlee Dam. The site features a double-lane concrete boat ramp with boat docks, parking, and basic amenities including toilets and garbage receptacles. This is a day-use only facility, making it ideal for paddlers and boaters looking for a quick launch point.

The reservoir offers excellent fishing opportunities for bass, crappie, bluegill, and trout, along with scenic boating in the shadow of the surrounding Hells Canyon Wilderness. Paddlers should note that the Copperfield site is the lower of several access points on this stretch of the Snake River, with Brownlee Reservoir upstream and Oxbow Reservoir further up. The calm reservoir waters make this a suitable access point for canoeists and recreational boaters, though conditions can vary seasonally.
