**Location & Access**
Located on Little Elkhart Creek in Houston County, approximately 10 miles northwest of Crockett, Texas, the County Boat Ramp provides access to a 1,330-acre impoundment. To reach the ramp, take FM 229 west from Loop 304 in Crockett for approximately 9 miles; the ramp is situated on the north side of the dam. The creek is part of the Trinity River drainage system.
**Water Conditions & Boating**
This is a lake environment suitable for kayaking, canoeing, and motorized boating. The impoundment reaches a maximum depth of 40 feet and was created in 1966, providing relatively calm water conditions compared to free-flowing creek paddling. The lake offers good opportunities for recreational paddling and fishing. Boaters should be prepared for typical lake conditions and check current water levels before launching.
