About This Access Site
**Location & Access:** Cove Arm is located on the Snake River near Mountain Home Air Force Base in Owyhee County, Idaho (coordinates: 42.96°N, 115.86°W). Note that the fixed boarding pier at this site may be temporarily unavailable. As an alternative, boaters are directed to launch from the ramp just upstream from Crane Falls Reservoir or from the ramp at Loveridge Bridge.

**River Character:** The Snake River at this location is a major river system with an average flow of approximately 49,000 cubic feet per second and average velocity of 10.8 feet/second. The river features a steep gradient (15.8 ft/mile average), making it suitable for intermediate to advanced paddlers and boaters. Expect moving water with significant current, particularly during spring runoff. The total elevation drop of the 559-mile Snake River (from near its source to the mouth) creates dynamic paddling conditions throughout the season.

**Planning Your Visit:** This access point is one of several designated launches along the Snake River corridor. Check current conditions and facility status before visiting, as infrastructure may be undergoing maintenance. Multiple camping areas are available on a first-come, first-serve basis between designated river access points. Consult Idaho Fish & Game regulations and USFS maps for the most current information on available facilities and any seasonal restrictions.
