About This Access Site
Cove Road Town Landing in Orleans provides access to Town Cove and the greater Nauset Estuary system. The facility features a single concrete ramp with curbs on both sides and an attached dock, making it suitable for kayaks, canoes, and small motorboats. From June 15 through September 15, a resident beach parking sticker is required; outside this period, no boat launching permit is needed for town residents.

Paddlers should be aware that navigating the Nauset Estuary requires local knowledge, as sandbars and shoals are subject to constant change. For those interested in exploring further, it's approximately a 20-25 minute paddle to the opening in Nauset Beach, though this passage presents challenges including bars, surf, and strong currents. The location places you within reach of Cape Cod National Seashore's 40 miles of protected beaches and marshes, as well as Monomoy National Wildlife Refuge, making it an excellent base for exploring the area's diverse paddling and wildlife viewing opportunities.
