Cox Lake is a 75-acre lake located west of Itasca State Park in southern Clearwater County, Minnesota. This county-owned, unimproved public water access site is situated on the west shore of the lake off County Road 39, making it easily accessible for paddlers and boaters in the area.
The access point offers parking for two trucks and trailers, making it suitable for small to medium-sized boats and ideal for kayaking and canoeing. However, the unimproved nature of the launch and limited parking mean this site works best for smaller vessels. There are no launch fees at this access point. Paddlers should note that the access may not be suitable for larger boats, so check your vessel size before planning a visit.
