About This Access Site
Creve Coeur Lake #1 is a scenic, accessible launch point in St. Louis perfect for kayakers, canoeists, and recreational boaters. Located at Sailboat Cove on the northeastern shore, this ramp provides straightforward water access in a developed park setting. The area features a dedicated parking lot, sand beach, and restroom facilities. To reach the ramp, take Dorsett Road west from the I-270/Dorsett junction, then turn north on Marine Avenue to the lake.

The lake offers a pleasant paddling environment with mixed conditions—sunny, open water near the ramp and beach areas, and wooded, shaded sections along the west shore and wildlife areas. Expect active recreational use including sailboats and swimmers, particularly on warm days. The lake's scenic northeast shore features a "Dripping Springs" waterfall along the southeast side, adding natural interest for paddlers exploring further afield. A network of trails circles the lake for those combining water time with hiking.

The park operates from dawn (30 minutes before sunrise) to dusk (30 minutes after sunset), with gates open by 7 a.m. This is a family-friendly venue suitable for paddlers of various skill levels seeking calm, accessible water near urban St. Louis.
