About This Access Site
**Cross Lake Day Use** is a well-developed public access point on the 1,815-acre Cross Lake Reservoir in Minnesota's scenic Whitefish Chain lake system. Located in Crosslake, Crow Wing County, the facility features two boat ramps, floating docks for boat parking, and accessible fishing piers—making it suitable for kayakers, canoeists, and larger motorboats alike. The lake reaches a maximum depth of 84 feet and offers 121 miles of shoreline to explore.

The day-use area provides excellent facilities for paddlers and boaters, including two accessible hot shower facilities, dump stations, playground areas, and picnic areas with two group shelters available for reservation. A significant advantage for multi-lake paddlers is Cross Lake's position on the Whitefish Chain, which allows water access to 14 connected lakes without portaging, making it ideal for extended paddling trips. To reach the site from Brainerd, take Highway 25 north, turn right on County Road 3, and continue north to Crosslake; the day-use entrance is on the left directly across from the intersection of Roads 3 and 66.

For more information or to reserve group facilities, contact the site at 651-290-5793. Note that ADA accessibility is limited at some facilities, though fishing piers and shower facilities are noted as accessible.
