The Cudjoe Key – Blimp Road boat ramp is a free, public-access facility located at the north end of Blimp Road in Cudjoe Key, Monroe County. This government-owned ramp features a single double lane of poured concrete in good to excellent condition and provides access to Cudjoe Channel and the surrounding backcountry waters of the Lower Florida Keys. The ramp is 20 feet wide with a maximum depth of approximately 6 feet at low tide, making it suitable for smaller recreational vessels, kayaks, and canoes.
Paddlers should be aware that shallow water conditions can limit access during certain tides, particularly for larger boats. Once launched, you'll have direct access to the backcountry waterways and nearby waters of the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary and Great White Heron National Wildlife Refuge. The facility does not have docks, so plan accordingly for loading and unloading gear. For those seeking a ramp with more amenities, nearby alternatives like Cudjoe Gardens and Sugarloaf Marina are available, though they charge fees.
