Lake Winona - west State Water Access Site

The Dacota Street access provides a concrete plank ramp for launching onto Winona Lake, a 168-acre lake in Winona. This is one of three public boat accesses available on the lake, making it a convenient option for kayakers, canoeists, and small motorboats. The ramp accommodates smaller vessels, so paddlers and lightweight craft are well-suited to this launch point.

Winona Lake has a maximum depth of 9 feet and features an outlet that eventually connects to the Mississippi River, offering paddlers the possibility to explore beyond the lake itself. The lake is popular year-round for fishing and paddling, with good opportunities for both waterborne recreation and shore access. The nearby Mississippi River pools (5A and 6) provide additional paddling options in the scenic Upper Mississippi River Valley for those seeking longer excursions. No launch fees are typically charged unless the site is within a park requiring a vehicle permit.
