Dallus Creek offers a well-maintained, easily accessible boat ramp ideal for kayakers, canoeists, and small boats launching into calm, clear waters. Located in Taylor County's Big Bend Wildlife Management Area, this government-owned facility is a stand-alone ramp open for public use. Note that some sections may only be accessible at high tide, so plan your launch accordingly, and the ramp is best suited for smaller vessels rather than larger boats.
From this access point, paddlers can explore a network of salt marsh creeks and coastal shallows, making it an excellent destination for both recreational paddling and fishing. The area is recognized on the Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail, with abundant wildlife viewing opportunities throughout the Hickory Mound and Tide Swamp units of the WMA. Be sure to carry the appropriate fishing license before heading out, and remember that Dallus Creek is classified as a freshwater ramp by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
