Daniels Reservoir is a 360-acre irrigation reservoir located approximately 15 miles northwest of Malad in Oneida County, Idaho. The site offers a public boat ramp and dock, making it accessible for kayakers, canoeists, and motorized boaters. The reservoir is impounded by a 95-foot earthen dam constructed in 1967 and fed by the Little Malad River, Wright Creek, and Hill Creek. As a relatively calm, open-water impoundment, this site is well-suited for recreational paddling and fishing activities.
The access site includes several convenient amenities: an improved boat ramp, dock facilities, restroom toilets, and ADA accessibility. Malad Summit Campground is located within 10 miles if you're planning an overnight trip. Note that there are no motor restrictions, so expect possible motorized traffic. The surrounding area offers scenic views typical of the Oneida County landscape, making it a pleasant destination for a day paddling or fishing outing.
