**Location & Access:** De Groot (also known as Nugent's Corner River Access) is located on the Nooksack River near Lynden in Whatcom County. To reach the site, travel south from Lynden on Guide Meridian Road for 1 mile, cross the Nooksack River Bridge, and take an immediate right into the access area.
**Facilities & Requirements:** This is a boat ramp access point operated by the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. A **Washington State Discover Pass is required for use**. The site supports car-top boat launches and provides access for kayaking, canoeing, and fishing from the river shoreline. The area is popular for viewing wildlife and wildlife observation.
**River Character:** The Nooksack River at this location offers Class III-IV whitewater in certain sections downstream, with multiple rapids, chaotic waves, and boulders particularly in the canyon area. Water conditions can vary significantly with flow levels, and portages around major drops may be necessary.
