About This Access Site
Dead Lakes County Park offers a convenient launch point for exploring the 6,700-acre Dead Lakes system in Gulf County. The park features a boat ramp with recently improved dockage, making it suitable for kayaks, canoes, and motorboats. The facility includes amenities such as restrooms, showers, and grills, making it a comfortable option for a full day of paddling or boating.

To reach the ramp, follow Gary Rowell Road east into the park and turn right when the road splits past the pond; the boat ramp is located on the south side of the road. From this access point, paddlers can explore the West Arm of Dead Lakes and Stone Mill Creek. The area's calm, shallow waters make it ideal for paddling, though you may want to check current conditions before launching. A second boat ramp in nearby Calhoun County provides access to the northwestern portion of Dead Lakes via Cypress Creek if you're looking to explore different sections of the water body.
