Cornet Bay offers convenient saltwater access on the north shore of Whidbey Island within Deception Pass State Park. The boat ramp is located behind Ben Ure Island on the east (inside) passage of Deception Pass—enter from the east side of Ben Ure Island. The park features multiple launch options with five saltwater and three freshwater boat ramps available, plus over 700 feet of saltwater dock access. A full-service marina with moorage, fuel, and supplies is also on-site.
**Important access note:** The boat launch is currently closed to trailered vessels, but kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards have full access to the launch. This makes Cornet Bay an excellent starting point for paddling in Cornet Bay and exploring the surrounding saltwater environment. A pay station in the parking lot allows you to purchase day-use or annual passes. Nearby paddling opportunities include Padilla Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve, featuring extensive seagrass meadows and tidal flats, and scenic access to Ebey's Landing National Historical Reserve on the Salish Sea.
