Dennis Landing is a boat ramp access site located on the Mississippi River in Bolivar County, Arkansas. This access point is situated near River Mile 610, about 10.5 miles upstream from the "new" mouth of the White River and 15 miles downstream from the chute to DeSoto Lake.
The boat ramp ends in firm sand that drops off gradually, with a depth of 3 feet at 9 feet out and 4 feet at 12 feet out. The ramp has a 7.35-foot-per-1-foot slope, with the last 9 feet having a 4.5-foot-per-1-foot slope. This access point is well-suited for launching kayaks, canoes, and small trailered boats onto the mighty Mississippi River.
The Mississippi River is a major waterway, stretching over 1,900 miles in length with an average flow of over 685,000 cubic feet per second. Boaters and paddlers should be aware of the river's significant size, strong currents, and ever-changing conditions. Extra caution is advised, especially for those new to navigating large rivers.
