About This Access Site
Devil Track Lake is a 1,876-acre lake in Cook County near Grand Marais offering public boat access via a drive-in ramp located approximately 0.5 miles from the main campground area. The lake has a maximum depth of 50 feet and accommodates kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats. In addition to the drive-in ramp, a carry-down launch and pier are available at the campground for smaller watercraft.

Paddlers should note that the lake provides access to both dispersed camping (accessible by foot from the boat launch) and boat-in only campsites on the north side of the lake. Backcountry sites are first-come, first-served and feature fire grates and latrines. Two Island Lake Campground is located within 10 miles as an alternative camping option.

When using the water, remember to treat or boil all water, hang food packs, fully extinguish fires before leaving your site, and wash dishes and personal items away from the water. This is a good destination for paddlers seeking a mix of day-use boating and backcountry camping opportunities.
