About This Access Site
**Location & Access:** Dewey's Pasture Complex provides a concrete boat ramp on the west side of Trumbull Lake, accessible via 310th Street near Ruthven in Clay County. From US Highway 18 (between Spencer and Emmetsburg), turn north on County Highway N18 approximately half a mile west of Ruthven. This one-lane concrete ramp features a dock and gravel parking area suitable for small to medium-sized boats and paddlers.

**Facilities & Nearby Amenities:** The ramp itself offers basic launch facilities without a marina or boat rental services on-site. However, the surrounding area provides convenient access to lodging, restaurants, bait and tackle shops, and both campgrounds and RV hookups nearby, making it a good base for extended trips or day outings.

**What to Expect:** Trumbull Lake is part of the larger Dewey's Pasture Complex, a wetland area managed for waterfowl and shorebird habitat. Paddlers can expect shallow water conditions typical of prairie wetlands. This is an excellent destination for kayakers and canoeists interested in wildlife viewing, particularly for observing wading birds and migratory species, though water levels and access conditions may vary seasonally.
