Dexter County Park provides convenient public boat access to Lake Dexter, a 287-acre Wood County lake with a maximum depth of 17 feet. The park features a boat launch ramp and is one of two public access points on the lake, making it an established destination for paddlers and boaters. A boat wash-down station is available at this location to help prevent the spread of aquatic invasive species.
The park offers more than just water access—amenities include a sandy beach, fishing dock areas, hiking trails, sand volleyball courts, and a campground, making it suitable for a full day or overnight outing. Lake Dexter supports populations of panfish, largemouth and smallmouth bass, northern pike, and walleye. An access road also leads below the dam to a popular salmon and steelhead fishing area operated by the Army Corps of Engineers. Note that Wood County implements a boat launch fee; parking passes can be purchased with debit or credit at the site.
