Dog Creek Day Use Area offers convenient water access on Nolin River Lake, a popular recreational destination in Hart County near Mammoth Cave. The facility features a boat ramp, courtesy dock, and fishing pier, making it well-suited for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats. A restroom and playground are available on-site. The campground adjacent to the day-use area can be reserved through Recreation.gov by calling 270-524-5454.

Nolin River Lake is known for its scenic beauty and excellent fishing opportunities, with the water body famous for catfish, bass, crappie, and walleye. Paddlers can enjoy scenic canoe trips along portions of the river, including areas within Mammoth Cave National Park. The lake maintains one of Kentucky's lowest drowning rates and attracts over two million visitors annually. Multiple boat ramps and fishing piers are located around the lake for visitor convenience.

**Directions:** From Bowling Green, take US 31W North for approximately 14 miles, turn left onto KY 101 (which becomes KY 259 North after 6 miles), continue for 11 miles, then turn right on KY 728 toward the facility.

Known for its unique blue/green water, Nolin Lake is one of the top lakes in Kentucky for catfish, bass, crappie and walleye fishing.

Visitors can enjoy scenic canoe and boat trips along the river, part of which is located within Mammoth Cave National Park. Boat ramps are provided around the lake for campers' convenience.

The Moutardier, Ponderosa and Wax Marinas are located around the lake and offer pontoon and john boat rentals, as well as boat slips and groceries, bait, gas and more.

Several hiking trails also wind along the shoreline and into the surrounding forest. Shady Creek Trail, located in the Moutardier Recreation Area, is known for its array of wildflowers and greenery.Facilities
