About This Access Site
Douglas Lodge offers a **double boat ramp** and large parking lot, making it an excellent access point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters launching onto Lake Itasca. The facility is conveniently located on the south shore of the lake within Itasca State Park, providing easy water access for exploration of this scenic glacial lake. The historic two-story log lodge building (built in 1905) features a full-service restaurant and additional amenities, making this a comfortable base for a full day of paddling or boating.

In addition to the main ramp at Douglas Lodge, paddlers should know that **Mary, Ozawindib, and Elk Lakes** within Itasca State Park also have boat landings if you're looking for alternative access points. The area offers excellent opportunities for exploring multiple waterways within the park, and several trails are accessible from the lodge area for those combining paddling with other outdoor activities.
