About This Access Site
Located at 250 Driftway Road in Scituate, this town-managed access point offers a convenient launching spot for kayaks, canoes, paddleboards, and trailered boats on the Herring River. The facility includes a small boat ramp, parking for trailers, a fishing pier, walking trails, and picnic areas. The site provides easy access to explore the Herring River's marshes and scenic landscape, making it ideal for a leisurely paddle.

Beyond paddling, Driftway Park connects to the multi-purpose Driftway Path, which links to additional trails including the Herring River Trail and James Landing Walkway. Paddlers should note that exploration is best kept within the river itself—avoid venturing beyond The Spit at the river mouth. The shared parking lot also serves the adjacent Conservation Park. This is a popular community spot, so arriving early during peak times is recommended.
