About This Access Site
Located approximately 15 miles north of Libby on Highway 37, the Dunn Creek Boat Ramp provides convenient access to Lake Koocanusa on the eastern side of the Kootenai River. The ramp features a concrete plank launch surface with a large paved parking area, making it suitable for kayaks, canoes, and motorboats. The site is situated at Dunn Creek Flats Campground, which offers additional amenities including a launching dock and day-use parking.

Lake Koocanusa is a substantial reservoir offering excellent recreational opportunities, particularly for anglers targeting the reservoir's renowned land-locked salmon fishery. The calm, lake-like conditions make this an ideal access point for recreational paddlers and boaters of all skill levels. The nearby Libby Dam Visitor Center (approximately 17 miles north) provides additional information about the area, and McGillivray Campground is available for overnight stays within 10 miles.
