**River Character:** This site accesses the lower Red Cedar River near its confluence with the Chippewa River, approximately 2.5 miles upstream. Expect big river paddling—the Red Cedar here is roughly 160 feet wide with flat floodplains and an obstruction-free channel. The final stretch downstream from Menomonie to Dunnville is known as a serene, easy paddle featuring excellent wildlife viewing opportunities (including otters), occasional riffles, and scenic rock outcrops characteristic of the Driftless region.
