The Eagle Lake - Aspen Grove boat ramp provides access to the scenic and expansive Eagle Lake in northeastern California. This location is primarily suited for launching kayaks, canoes, and small boats, though larger vessels may have difficulty due to the narrow and potentially shallow channel.
The access site features a gravel carriage road that can be accessed from both the left and right sides of the launch area, each marked with a "Do Not Block Gate" sign. While the site is open to the public, it does not appear to have any fees or reservations required. Nearby, visitors will find several campgrounds within 10 miles, including Christie Campground, Merrill Campground, and Aspen Grove Campground.
Eagle Lake itself is a large, high-altitude lake located about 16 miles north of Susanville, California. At 5,100 feet above sea level, the lake offers scenic beauty and ample opportunities for paddling and boating. Nearby, the Bizz Johnson National Recreation Trail follows an old railroad line, providing additional recreational activities for visitors to the area.
