About This Access Site
Earls Hollow Boat Ramp provides access to the Powell River arm of Norris Lake in Speedwell, Tennessee. This public boat ramp is located at river mile 49.4 and is suitable for launching small watercraft like kayaks, canoes, and trailered boats.

The Powell River is a major tributary of Norris Lake, a large TVA reservoir in the Cumberland Mountains. The river is relatively wide and slow-moving in this area, making it a popular destination for recreational boating, fishing, and other water sports. Paddlers can explore the scenic river and coves, keeping an eye out for wildlife like bald eagles, herons, and waterfowl.

While there are no developed campgrounds right at the Earls Hollow access site, the Wilderness Road Campground is located within 10 miles and offers reservable campsites. The nearby Cumberland Gap National Historical Park also provides ample opportunities for hiking, history, and outdoor recreation in the surrounding mountains and forests. Boaters and paddlers should review navigation charts and be prepared for changing weather and water conditions on this large reservoir.
