This free public boat launch provides convenient access to Lake Erie in downtown Erie. Located at the foot of East Avenue, the ramp sits in a protected basin behind a man-made breakwall, offering calmer conditions ideal for kayakers and canoeists launching onto the open lake. To reach the facility, turn right (east) at the gate to the Erie Cork Corporation and follow the paved access road to the waterfront.
The East Avenue Ramp is one of four free public launch facilities operated by Port Erie and has been serving boaters since its construction in 1975. There are no launch fees, and the facility welcomes general public use. This is a solid option for paddlers looking to explore Lake Erie's shoreline or launch for longer open-water paddles, with the protected breakwall basin providing a sheltered launch area.
