**Location & Access**
East Magic Resort provides a developed boat ramp on the east shore of Magic Reservoir near Gannett in south-central Idaho. From US Highway 20, take State Highway 75 south for 3.5 miles, then turn west on East Magic Reservoir Road and continue 4.6 miles to reach the ramp. The site is located between mile markers 98–99 on Highway 75. A west shore access point is also available approximately 13 miles from the Highway 20/75 junction via US 20.
**Facilities & Recreation**
This semi-developed access site offers boat ramps, campsites, parking, and handicap-accessible facilities. Magic Reservoir is a popular multi-use destination suitable for kayaking, canoeing, fishing, and water sports. Several other developed recreation areas are nearby, including multiple campground options (Lava Creek, Lava Cove, West Magic, Myrtle Point, and others) and the small, non-motorized Thorn Creek Reservoir. Commercial accommodations and full-service campgrounds are available in the nearby communities.
**What to Expect**
As a reservoir-based site, paddlers can expect calm water conditions typical of impounded lakes rather than river current. This makes it suitable for recreational kayakers and canoeists of varying skill levels. Check current conditions and water levels before visiting, and plan accordingly for weather on this exposed water body.
