**Location & Access**
East Pilgrim Point provides boat access to Lake Ida on the east shore via County Road 116 in Alexandria, Douglas County. This concrete ramp is approximately 20 feet wide, offering adequate space for launching and retrieving most watercraft. The site serves as one of three public access points on the lake, making it a convenient option for paddlers and boaters exploring the area.
**Launch Conditions & Cautions**
The ramp can be challenging during low water periods, particularly for larger boats. Paddlers and boaters should be aware of shallow rock bars near Pilgrim Point and Stony Point (which separate the north and south portions of the lake), as well as near Betsy Ross Point at the entrance to the northwest bay. Approach these areas with caution and be prepared to navigate shallow water. If you prefer calmer conditions or easier access, note that the north shore access point has more limited parking and shallower launching conditions.
