About This Access Site
Located approximately half a mile east of the East Twin Campground in the Chequamegon National Forest, this developed boat ramp provides convenient access to the 110-acre East Twin Lake. The ramp is situated in a scenic forested setting typical of northwestern Wisconsin, making it an excellent starting point for paddling and boating. The facility operates seasonally from March 1 through October 31.

Beyond the main lake, paddlers will appreciate the portage option to West Twin Lake, which is accessible via a walk-in portage just outside the campground. The area supports a variety of water activities including fishing, boating, and swimming. Amenities at the recreation area include picnic facilities, a fishing pier, drinking water, and vault toilets. For overnight stays, the East Twin Campground offers 9-10 campsites accommodating RVs up to 30 feet. A variety of recreational activities are available, including fishing, boating and swimming on the adjacent lake. A boat ramp is located about a half-mile east of the campground, providing access to East Twin Lake and also features a walk-in portage to West Twin lake which is located just outside the campground. Largemouth bass and pan fish are akin to the body of water, as well as an occasional musky or other freshwater species.

Miles of hiking and mountain bike trails are located nearby and just down the road is an established Blue Heron rookery.Facilities
The campground offers several single family campsites for tent and RV camping with many located on the lake. East Twin campground offers two tent walk-in sites for those looking for a somewhat more secluded camping experience. Each site is equipped with tables and campfire rings with grills. Accessible vault toilets and drinking water are provided. Trash collection and an aluminum can recycling bin are also available at the campground.Natural Features
The campground is situated in a maple, birch and hemlock forest, with many sites overlooking the lake. A variety of birds and wildlife, including elk, eagles, loons, blue heron and other species, make their homes near the campground.
