About This Access Site
East Twin Lake is a small backcountry lake accessible via boat ramp on the west side of the lake. The lake is part of the Twin Lakes Canoe Route and offers paddlers access to two rustic, first-come, first-served campsites. Each site includes a fire grate, latrine, and picnic table. Note that recent reports indicate the access ramp installed in 2010 may be partially flooded; check current conditions before visiting, as water levels can affect launch feasibility.

This is a true backcountry destination ideal for kayakers and canoeists seeking a near-wilderness experience. Campsites are single-party only, and standard wilderness practices apply: hang food packs, fully extinguish fires before leaving camp, treat or boil all water, and wash dishes away from the shoreline. The small size of the lake makes it suitable for paddlers of all skill levels, and it serves as a good destination for overnight canoe trips. Nearby campground options include Two Island Lake and East Bearskin Lake (reservable) within 10 miles if you prefer developed facilities.
