About This Access Site
The Easter Ferry boat ramp provides access to the Elk River in Limestone County, Alabama. This section of the Elk River is a large, 6th-order stream with an average flow of over 2,700 cubic feet per second and an average gradient of 12 feet per mile. The river is approximately 176 miles long, with a total elevation drop of 640 feet from its headwaters to its mouth.

The boat ramp itself is a concrete launch, allowing for easy loading and unloading of kayaks, canoes, and small motorized boats. Nearby, there is paved parking available for vehicles and trailers. However, the access site does not have any additional amenities such as restrooms or security lighting.

For paddlers and boaters, the Elk River in this area offers opportunities for scenic floating, fishing, and exploring the Cumberland Plateau region of northern Alabama. The river's moderate flow and gradient make it suitable for a range of skill levels, though boaters should be aware of the river's size and potential hazards, especially during periods of high water.
