About This Access Site
**Location & Access**
Egret Pond, located in the Peabody Wildlife Management Area near Cool Springs in Ohio County, Kentucky, offers a public boat ramp for access to the Pond River. The ramp is situated downstream of newer tracts within the WMA, providing paddlers and boaters a convenient entry point to explore this scenic wildlife area.

**What to Expect**
This is a developing access site with expanding amenities. Parking is currently limited to designated areas and maintained roads—please do not block gates or access roads. The Pond River attracts bald eagles and waterfowl, making it excellent for wildlife viewing. Spring paddlers should note that a white bass run occurs around early April. Interior access to the WMA is primarily walk-in and boat-in only at this time, though Kentucky Fish and Wildlife continues to improve signage and facilities. Check the department's website and social media for updates on ongoing improvements.

**Important Note**
Hunters are present in the area during hunting seasons and cannot discharge firearms within 100 yards of the boat ramp. Plan your visit accordingly and be aware of seasonal hunting activity.
