About This Access Site
The Elkins Dam Site provides a public boat launch on Pleasant Lake, a scenic 600+ acre lake in the Appalachian Mountains of central New Hampshire. This trailer ramp is the primary access point for boaters and paddlers looking to explore Pleasant Lake and its connected waterways. The no-jet-ski policy makes this an especially appealing destination for kayakers, canoeists, and those seeking a quieter paddling experience on a picture-perfect New England lake.

**Practical Access Information:** Parking is available at the Masonic Lodge across the street from the launch. Note that parking at the adjacent Elkins Beach lot is limited and requires a parking pass. The ramp is located off Elkins Road in New London. Given the lake's size and calm, no-motorized-watercraft policy, this is an excellent base for day paddles, leisure boating, and water sports like paddle boarding and swimming.

**Nearby Options:** If you're interested in whitewater paddling, consider visiting nearby Blackwater Dam near Webster, which offers some of the region's best kayaking conditions during spring water releases, or Franklin Falls Dam on the Pemigewasset River for additional recreation opportunities.
