About This Access Site
Ellacoya State Park in Gilford offers a dedicated boat ramp and cartop launch facility on the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee, New Hampshire's largest lake. This well-developed state park provides convenient access for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats. The launch area is located near the beach and swimming facilities, with an accessible bathhouse and changing area nearby for visitor convenience.

The park operates seasonally (May to October) and charges a modest day-use fee for parking. Cartop launching is available for kayaks and canoes, with designated parking for these smaller watercraft. The facility includes restroom facilities with handicap accessibility, and a small park store on-site offers refreshments. For those planning an extended stay, Ellacoya's 37-site RV campground (with full hookups) provides overnight accommodations by reservation.

Lake Winnipesaukee is a large, scenic water body ideal for paddling, offering good conditions for both recreational kayakers and canoeists. This park location makes an excellent base for exploring the lake's many coves and islands.
