About This Access Site
Elliott Island Marina offers a well-developed public access point to Fishing Bay in Dorchester County, Maryland. The single launching ramp accommodates small to medium-sized power boats, canoes, and kayaks, with approximately 70 designated trailer parking spots and pull-over parking available. The facility includes seasonal portable restrooms and is located on Elliott Island Road just south of Vienna, easily accessed via US Route 50 and MD Route 331.

**Access & Navigation:** Follow Elliott Island Road south from Vienna and turn left onto Wharf Road to reach the ramp, or look for the access on the right side of Elliott Island Road just past the Fishing Bay sign. Be aware that road shoulders can be soft or wet, and portions of the road may be partially submerged during high tides—exercise caution when parking. Paddlers should navigate Fishing Bay using NOAA Chart 12263 and be prepared for tidal influences typical of this Chesapeake Bay tributary system.

**Nearby Recreation:** The location provides convenient access to two significant regional attractions: Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge, a premier birding destination established in 1933 along the Atlantic Flyway, and the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad National Monument, both offering cultural and natural history opportunities for visitors exploring the area.
