The Elm Bluff Boat Ramp provides easy access to the Alabama River's William Dannelly Reservoir. This scenic reservoir covers roughly 27 square miles and is a popular destination for kayakers, canoeists, and small motorized boats.
The boat ramp is well-maintained and can accommodate a variety of watercraft. The nearby Elm Bluff Campground may also have docks or other launch facilities available for campers. The reservoir and surrounding Alabama River offer excellent opportunities for fishing, with good populations of striped bass, spotted bass, crappie, and large catfish.
Boaters and paddlers should be aware that the reservoir can experience variable water levels and flows, so checking current conditions is recommended before launching. The tailwaters below the Millers Ferry Lock and Dam, located downstream, are also a popular fishing spot. Overall, the Elm Bluff Boat Ramp provides convenient access to a scenic and productive section of the Alabama River system.
