Embarrass Lake (North)

The north access to Embarrass Lake, located off Highway 135 near Biwabik, features a concrete planked boat ramp with adjacent parking. This is one of two public access points on the 156-acre lake, making it a convenient launch spot for kayakers, canoeists, and recreational boaters in the area. The ramp is suitable for typical recreational vessels, including small to medium-sized boats.

This northern access point provides straightforward lake access without the amenities found at the west-side municipal campground (which has two ramps and a fishing pier). Paddlers should note that there are no launch fees at this access point, and the concrete ramp construction offers reliable launching conditions. The lake offers relatively accessible paddling for recreational use, though paddlers should check current conditions and water levels before launching.
