About This Access Site
Emily Lake Forest State Campground offers a paved boat ramp providing excellent access to the southern shore of this 54-acre lake in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. The day-use boating area features a dedicated launch facility suitable for kayaks, canoes, and motorboats. The lake is known as a productive fishing destination with a strong panfish population, making it popular with anglers and recreational paddlers alike.

The campground itself includes nine rustic tent and small trailer sites nestled among conifers and hemlocks, offering scenic lake views for those wanting to extend their visit. Beyond paddling, the area provides access to the nearby Bill Nicholls Trail system (38 miles of multi-use trails), a swimming area, and year-round fishing opportunities. Note that a Michigan Recreation Passport is required for vehicle entry into this state forest campground and boat launch.
