About This Access Site
Water Valley Landing provides boat ramp access to Enid Lake, a 78-mile stretch of the Yocona River located in northeast Mississippi near I-55. The lake is a controlled impoundment on this large river system (Stream Order 7) with an average flow of 1,259 cubic feet per second. **Note:** Water levels are actively managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for flood control from July 1 through January 1, which may render some boat ramps inoperative during this period—always call ahead at 662-563-4571 to confirm current ramp conditions and water levels before your trip.

The access site is located at Persimmon Hill Campground, a family-oriented facility with eight campsites directly on the lake. A $5.00 per vehicle boat ramp fee applies. The surrounding area offers extensive recreation across 44,000 acres of Corps-managed land with 15 recreation areas around the lake's shoreline. Additional amenities at Persimmon Hill include a beach area, playground, and comfortable facilities with flush toilets. Nearby camping alternatives include Plum Point and Long Branch Campgrounds, also within 10 miles.

**Directions:** From I-55 take exit 233 onto County Road 36 south (cross the dam), then turn onto County Road 34 and continue 1 mile following campground signs. For current spillway information and water conditions, contact the facility or check the Vicksburg District Daily River Bulletin.
