About This Access Site
The Enid Lake boat ramp provides access to the Yocona River and Enid Lake, a popular fishing and recreation destination in north-central Mississippi. The ramp is part of the larger Persimmon Hill Campground facility, which offers campsites, picnic areas, and other amenities.

Enid Lake is known for its excellent fishing opportunities, with abundant populations of white crappie, bass, and catfish. The lake was once home to the world record white crappie. Boaters and paddlers can explore the extensive shoreline and coves of the 17,000-acre reservoir. However, water levels at the lake can fluctuate significantly due to flood control operations, so it's important to check on the current conditions before launching.

The Enid Lake boat ramp is accessible via County Road 34, about 1 mile from the Persimmon Hill Campground entrance. A $5 per vehicle fee is charged to use the ramp. Nearby campgrounds at Plum Point and Long Branch provide additional options for those looking to explore the lake and surrounding area. Paddlers should be prepared for wind and waves common on larger reservoirs like Enid Lake.
