Located on the Yocona River near Oakland in northeast Mississippi, the Persimmon Hill boat ramp at Enid Lake provides access to a large reservoir known for excellent fishing. The ramp is part of a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers facility with a $5.00 per vehicle launch fee. **Important Operational Note:** Water levels at Enid Lake are managed for flood control and are typically lowered from July 1 through January 1, which can render some boat ramps inoperative during this period. The Yocona River system is a large stream (order 7) with an average flow of 1,259 cubic feet per second and a moderate gradient of 4.2 feet/mile, making it suitable for various types of boating. The surrounding area includes 44,000 acres of Corps-managed forest and 15 recreation areas along the lake's shores.
