About This Access Site
Enid Lake, located on the Yocona River in Yalobusha County, Mississippi, offers a popular boat ramp and access site for paddlers, anglers, and recreational boaters. The lake is part of a larger U.S. Army Corps of Engineers project, with a variety of campgrounds, day-use areas, and other recreation amenities situated along the shoreline.

The boat ramp at Persimmon Hill provides direct access to Enid Lake, which is known for its abundant fishery, featuring white crappie, bass, and catfish. Water levels can fluctuate seasonally, so it's advisable to check conditions before launching, as some ramps may be unusable during periods of low water. A $5 fee is charged per vehicle to use the boat ramp.

Nearby campgrounds at Plum Point and Long Branch provide accommodations for those looking to spend more time exploring the lake and surrounding forested areas. Visitors should be aware of any fees or operational changes, as the Recreation.gov listing notes that camping rates will increase starting January 1, 2021. Overall, Enid Lake offers a scenic, family-friendly destination for paddlers, boaters, and anglers in northwest Mississippi.
